Privacy Policy

This policy is written in plain language so it is actually readable. It describes what Sightline collects and why, and it is drafted to be GDPR-appropriate for an Ireland-based service. It has not yet been reviewed by a solicitor. Treat it as an accurate description of current practice, not a substitute for legal advice specific to your business.

Who we are

Sightline is a survey-to-order tool for window and door installers, operated from Ireland. Contact: hello@sightline.ie.

What we collect

Account data: email address, company name, and a hashed password (we never see or store your password in plain text: this is handled by our authentication provider, Supabase).
Survey data: photographs or typed/dictated notes of window and door survey sheets that you submit for reading, and the resulting item records (dimensions, sash type, glass notes, project/address details you enter).
Usage data: number of sheet reads per month, for the purpose of enforcing your account's fair-use cap.

Why we collect it

To operate the core service: reading your survey sheet and producing an elevation drawing and order sheet.
To run your account: approval gating, login, and enforcing monthly read limits so no single account can exhaust shared resources.
To notify you of account events (approval, password reset) by email.

How survey sheets are processed

A photo or typed note you submit is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to be read into structured data (dimensions, opening type, etc.). This happens server-side; the underlying AI provider does not receive your account credentials, only the sheet content needed to read it. Read results are always shown back to you for review and correction before anything is printed or saved. The app never acts on an unconfirmed read.

How long we keep data

Saved surveys are kept for 30 days from the date saved, then automatically deleted. You can re-save (which resets the 30-day clock) or export/print before it expires.
Account data is kept for as long as your account is active. Contact us to request deletion.

Who we share data with

Supabase (database and authentication hosting, EU region).
Anthropic (Claude API, used only to read submitted survey content).
Vercel (application hosting).
Resend (transactional account emails: signup and approval notifications).

We do not sell survey or account data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. Email hello@sightline.ie and we will action this promptly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date above will change and, where practical, active account holders will be notified by email.
